Two weeks round-trip to various teaching-hospitals, out-patient clinics and research projects in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania supervised by consultants on tropical medicine and travelers’ health from Germany and East-Africa
Individual on-site bedside teaching, laboratory manuals (hands-on microscopy on parasites in the blood, stool , urine and skin) and lectures in English
Field excursions to deserts (visceral leishmaniasis), rain forests (malaria, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, Dengue fever), fresh-water lakes (schistosomiasis) and national parks (antelopes: reservoir of African trypanosomiasis)
Training on DD of fever and diarrhoea in the returned traveller, WHO-vaccination guidelines, dive medicine, altitude sickness, venomous snakes, medical botany and visit to the "Flying Doctors".
